Like every other year, Madden releases a few nuggets about the game before it is released, and one of the most controversial is the player ratings, which always upset fans who think their favorite player is not rated high enough or other players are rated too high.
Football fans aren’t the only ones who have a problem with the player ratings, the players themselves always have something to complain about, like their speed or tackling skills. Despite the complaints, which are usually done in fun, Madden always rectifies any real issues with updates that are available to download throughout the season.
Last season, New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, graced the cover of the magazine, and was the highest rated quarterback in the game. Despite the infamous “Madden Curse,” Brady led his team to the Super Bowl and was named the regular season MVP.
With the 40-year-old quarterback winning MVP honors last season, Patriots fans expected him to be the highest rated quarterback in the game this season. However, that honor went to Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rogers.
Rogers was rated a perfect 99 by the Madden developers, despite missing most of last season with a broken collarbone. Brady, was the fifth highest ranked player with a 97 rating.
Despite the fact that Brady will turn 41 this season, Patriots fans have every right to be upset because Brady was the best quarterback in the league last season, and should have remained there until another quarterback proves he is better than him.
